"More to Partake"

The following video was my first foray into such interests.  I beat up the old computer I had making it.  I really beat up Windows Movie Maker to make it.

I drew each frame by hand as a separate cell in Photoshop.  I wrote the lyrics and much of the melody.  My husband composes and performed all instrumentation.  He and I provided all the voices.

It was made quite a few years ago.  My skills have improved since then (in my humble opinion at least).  Still, I may get embarrassed and either pull it down or edit the credits somewhat.  We'll see... ~_~000

If you are interested, the lyrics are listed below the video.

"More to Partake"

If you thrill the night
Come on out tonight
Winter chill excites
Shiver little sighs
It won't last long
It won't last long

Brisk air crisps, snips
Hair blown in wisps
Hair blown like whips
Frozen root to tips
It won't last long
It won't last long

Hoar frost rime entrance
Crunching steps, a prance
Double-time the dance
Such a cruel romance
It won't last long
It won't last long

Fingers stiff, thick
Bones quake, ache
But there's a trick
More to partake
All Winter long
All Winter long

There is warmth in its place
Oh, there's such warmth in this place
And there is no need for haste
Oh no, there's no need for haste

Heat prickles face
Hot chocolate sips
Spice it up a bit
Moist kisses lips
A soothing balm
A soothing balm

If you thrill the night
Stay inside tonight
Fire glow invites
Cozy little sighs
All stress is gone
All stress is gone

Please don't poke too much fun.

The Slapdasher's Mission

I love playing with graphics and animation and video.  Not only is it fun, but it is also a good tool to help me get a thorough feel for a story or even just a scene.  I have some skills at it, an abundance of vision and conceptualizations for them, so I can't promise they will all be to your liking.  Hopefully, they will at least be somewhat visually and emotionally stimulating... in a visceral sort of way.  My style tends to be clean and crisp, but I like it smudgy and rough sometimes as well.  Themes tend to dictate it, though the clean and crisp insinuates itself perhaps more often than in necessary.

The title of this section plays to my random bouts of shyness.  So is the subtitle and the art to the side.  I can be contradictorily proud and ashamed of the same pieces, and as such, there's a sort of thrust and run effect to how I show them to people.

This area is thus dedicated to teasers, trailers, and anything else otherwise animated or motion directed that is related to my works, be they in progress or merely conceived or all out completed.

For example, my current animated banner that tops all of these blog sections is a teaser trailer for a novel I am currently working on.  I am tempted to change the text in this trailer to "coming eventually" since I keep getting distracted more than I ought to.  Oh, well.  As stated elsewhere, I am chaos - pity my husband.

Please peruse at your leisure.
